Headliners for 2013

Chris Vadala Quartet Vadala is one of the country’s foremost woodwind artists, in demand as a jazz/classical performer and educator. He has apperared on more than 100 recordings to date, as well as innumerable jingle sessions, film and TV scores, performing on all the saxophones, flutes, and clarinets. Vadala is Director of Jazz Studies and Saxophone Professor at the University of Maryland. Professor Vadala’s performing career has been highlighted by a long tenure as standout woodwind artist with the internationally recognized Chuck Manigione Quartet. As of 2009, he became a regular member of the Awarding-Winning Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, and has been the first call saxophonist with National Symphony Orchestra for many years.

Veronneau launched in 2010, this international acoustic quartet has delighted audiences with their world jazz and pop sets. With 2 albums landing them high on radio and Internet listening charts. French Canadian vocalist Lynn Veronneau lights up the stage with her engaging presence and moving interpretations. She’s joined by Ken Avis and David Rosenblatt, acoustic guitar, and percussion of Pete Walby, playing samba, bossa nova, gypsy jazz and swing music. Veronneau has earned rave reviews and captivated audiences in festivals, concert halls and jazz clubs in many countries. Based in Northern Virginia, they’ve played at the Kennedy Center, Avalon Theater, and Strathmore.
